YOUR PREGNANCY – WEEKS 28 TO 32

Lanugo (soft dark hair) covers the body

Brain and nervous system continue to grow
-
Sleeping and waking becomes more defined
-
Kicking and stretching continues
-
Baby may suck its thumb
-
Weight is 2-1/2 to 3 lbs. and is approximately 16 inches long
-
If a male, testicles start to move down into the scrotum
Your Body
-
The uterus continues to rise above the umbilicus closer to the rib cage
-
You may experience kicking against the ribs; mild pain can occur
-
You may become fatigued more quickly
-
When getting up quickly, you may experience light headedness
-
With increased activity, breathing becomes harder (i.e. going up and down the stairs, doing laundry, etc.)

Your feet, hands and/or ankles may swell with humidity, heat and/or if standing for a long period of time
Office Visits Include:

Blood pressure and weight check

Urine dip

Fundal height
-
Listening to fetal heart tones

Discuss kick counts
-
Review signs of pre-term labor

Ultrasound
-
Antibody/Rhogam
