YOUR PREGNANCY – WEEKS 20 TO 24

Take another peek at your  baby

Your Baby

  • Baby begins to move

  • Fingernails are growing

  • Weighs approximately 1-1/2 lbs. and is about 12 inches long

  • If you choose to know, the sex of the fetus can be determined via an ultrasound

Your Body

  • Breasts are growing, becoming softer and veins are beginning to show

  • Colostrum, a clear white fluid, may leak from your nipple

  • The uterus is at the naval or just above it

  • The texture of your hair may change (i.e. more oily, thicker, etc.)

  • Constipation may begin and could continue throughout the pregnancy

  • Ligaments in the abdomen, pelvis and groin are continuing to stretch and you may experience discomfort in these areas

Office Visits Include:

  • Blood pressure and weight check

  • Urine dip

  • Fundal height

  • Listening to fetal heart tones

  • Ultrasound
