With Dr. Marilyn Mitchell, M.D.
Dr. Marilyn L. Mitchell, M.D. is now offering Energy Healing Sessions. Dr. Mitchell is a partner at WomanCare who practices gynecology and holistic medicine. She is our Director of Integrated Healing, a member of the American Holistic Medical Association and a graduate of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing.
The sessions are approximately one hour in length. They are performed in a quiet room with the patient fully clothed and the lights low. Dr. Mitchell may talk or meditate with the patient or lightly touch the body and the surrounding energy field, sometimes including the energy centers (chakras). The patient may feel sensations such as heat, cold, energy waves through the body or may simply feel a sense of relaxation. Some patients experience a sense of well-being or insight. Results are often apparent as time progresses after the actual session. Because experiences are highly individual, no particular results are expected or guaranteed. An individual patient may have a different experience every time.
Patients may seek energy healing because they want to balance the body, mind, spirit and emotions; because they wish to explore the energetic field correlations of a particular physical or emotional disease or problem or because they hope to gain a broader perspective on their system than just the analytical, linear mind perspective. Some wish to use the energy healing to achieve wellness. In all cases, the intention is to form a co-creative process so that both healer and patient are working together. It is expected that patients beginning Energy Healing Sessions are ready to commit to a process over time and will come for regular sessions.
Although Energy Healing and chakra analysis may have profound effects in individual cases, they are not considered medical in nature or a substitute for medical treatment. For this reason, a patient interested in receiving these sessions must first be seen by a WomanCare physician or another medical practitioner within the last six months or have a referral from their personal physician. Energy Healing is not intended for patients who are having an emergency medical crisis.
